Christmas Fun

Today, we had a Happy Birthday to Jesus. We invited some friends over and all the kids made a manger scene craft and then decorated cupcakes for baby Jesus. I am sure it was probably one of the more noisy, crazy birthday parties Jesus has had, but we all had fun. I think there were 8 kids, not enough markers, plenty of sprinkles, and a few too few of the one toy that they all wanted at once. It was a memorable celebration and I think the kids caught the main theme - a cake for Jesus :) We are looking forward to my family arriving for Christmas in less than a week. I have been working hard to keep up on the main things so I don't get overwhelmed with trying to do the extra things. I wasn't feeling the best over the weekend, but we still had a relaxing couple days as a family. I love our days all as a family. We are still really enjoying our Church, Micah is settling into his job and we are counting our blessings this Christmas season.
The picture above is when we all went to cut down our Christmas tree together. The boys were not really cooperating so I didn't get the perfect family picture for the Christmas card, but it is still cute enough to put on the blog.

Tents

Daddy makes the best forts ever!!! This was fun activity one evening. The boys had a ton of fun climbing in and out of their tunnel entrance. They sure brighten up everyday with their smiles, giggles, and energy. Today we had Bible Study Fellowship. Kyler made a "cake" for baby Jesus and Zayne learned about God's promise to Abraham. I learned more about faith and God's promises. After bible study I brought the boys back home and Gramma and Grampa watched them during nap time so I could get a little more Christmas shopping done. It was a fun productive day.

Decorating...

Decorating the Tree! It was so fun to have the boys be into the tree this year. They were SO cute deciding where to put the ornaments. Zayne was very serious about his task and intent on doing it right - very much his personality. Kyler was more excited to see our response when he pulled the ornaments back down - little tease.

December 2011

What a fun beginning to the Christmas Season. We have had a couple of fun and eventful weeks. After recovering from a couple of little sick bugs that hit us all, we are feeling better now and excited to celebrate Jesus's Birthday in a couple of weeks. We went last weekend and picked out our Christmas tree. Who knew FL has a Christmas Tree farm where you can pick out and cut down your own tree? Complete with a hay ride and everything. We found a great little FL pine, and although it is definitly not as hearty has the MI Blue Spruce, we think it is beautiful! The boys helped us decorate it and undecorate it (Kyler) and after hanging the stockings and arranging my little town set we are ready for the holiday. My family is coming down this year to celebrate a palm tree Christmas with us and we can't wait!
The boys are doing amazing. We have had a really good month together. Even when they were sick it was just fun to be around at the house playing, learning, growing, and laughing. We love our afternoons when Joseph visits his Gramma and Grampa and we get to ride bikes and play with the toys in the front yard and street. The mornings are full of playing on the porch, watching Dinasour train, getting ready for the day, and doing activities. We are still going to BSF on Tuesday's, Library on Wednesday, and filling the other days with parks and play dates. Looking forward to the next couple weeks!
