Cookies and Ice Cream???

I realize that showing you these pictures is going to make me look like a really bad mom, but they were too cute not to post. Zayne really does like ice cream - he is after all his Mommy's boy. But don't worry I don't actually feed him cookies, he just liked the crinkly package and Micah let him have a little fun with it to keep him occupied.
Today we drove a friend, who just lost her dad, to the airport in Detroit to pick up her husband. Zayne did pretty good for most of the ride and I was happy to be able to help her during this sad time.

Fun With Friends

Last week, some good friends that I've known since forever came over for a visit. Martha and the twins and her sisiter Erin came to see us for the day and check out the new restaurant. It was a beautiful day and we loved enjoying the outdoors. We ended up eating ice cream before lunch, but it didn't ruin anyone's appetiete, especially because we got to eat some awesome pizza and grinders at Rudinos. Martha's twins are so cute. Zayne just loves watching them run around. He must have learned some new tricks too because the next day he started pulling himself up on things with a lot more determination.
We also got to see Martha and her husband again this Saturday. Ryan had a conference in town and Martha came along just to hang out. How fun to get to see a special friend like 3 times in the last few months!
This weekend we have loved being outside as much as possible. On Sunday we went for a long hike and mt. bike ride with some new friends from church and today Zayne, Micah and I had a picnic at a county park near us. We are loving these lazy, warmer, days!

Little Climber

This week Zayne has decided crawling is boring and old news. He is now onto pulling himself up furniture and contempleting taking steps. He gets so excited once he is standing up. Wow - I used to think he took a lot of energy, but watch out world here he comes! He just goes from one piece of furniture to the next, trying to stand up next to it. Last night at 2:00am I heard him in his room and went in and found him standing, holding onto the railings of his crib. He gave me this huge smile like he had just done something great. Oh boy - I guess it is payback from my childhood.
We had a fun week and enjoyed having the weather warm up a bit. One more day until Sunday!

Play Date

A week ago, Zayne and I got to have a super fun Playdate with some "old" and "new" friends. The old friends were the mom's I knew in college and from Navigators and the new friends were all the babies. Between 4 moms there were 7 kids, 6 under the age of 1! We all met over at our house and had so much fun juggling babies, eating lunch (yes we all managed to sit down for about 15 minutes - Baby Einstein is a miracle worker), talking, and laughing together. It was such a fun day of sharing and encouraging each other as moms and wives. Zayne loved having all the company and especially liked seeing Maddie again.

Wet Weekend

It seems like everyday off that Micah has had lately the weather has been crummy. On Saturday it was Sunny and close to 75 deg and then Sunday and Monday (his days off)it was rainy and cold - 40deg. Yuck!!! We still tried to enjoy his days though and on Sunday dropped Zayne off at Saba and Safta's and went to see a movie and out to eat. We had Olive Garden gift cards and it was so fun to just relax and eat at a nice restaurant. We were thinking how before we had our little guy, it was something we did at least once a week. Ahh life changes :). Zayne is still not completely over being sick. I think the ups and downs of the weather is making it hard for him to get better.

We have a pretty low key week though and then this weekend get to have some friends come! Can't wait!

Mommy's boy

The last few days Zayne has been under the weather again. I feel like we are in this cycle of a few weeks being healthy and then a few weeks being sick. Poor little guy, this time he was sick for a week, cutting teeth for the next two weeks and then sick again this week. Hopefully with the warmer weather we can get healthy and stay healthy. He really likes his mommy when he isn't feeling well. It is so cute to see him reach for me and just want to cuddle.

The restaurant had its best day today. They were super busy, had a bunch of catering orders, but then on top of it all, the internet went down so all the credit card reciepts had to be run by hand. Wouldn't you know - murphy's law! We have really felt the momentum increase the past few weeks. It is so cool to go in and see all the people eating and loving our food!

Too Cool Motercycle Guys

Last Friday afternoon, I heard on knock on my door and opened it up to find these mean looking motercycle guys at my door. My brother Josiah and a couple of his friends were out for a "ride." Josiah just bought his bike - the red one and although it scares the crap out of me, it does look pretty cool. Zayne loved seeing them and thought he was pretty big sitting on all their bikes. I invited them to drive down to the corner ice cream shop with us, but I was told that ice cream shops didn't fit the "cool" protocol for bikers. They decided to head down to the party/liqour store down the rode. When I talked to Josiah later he said he got an ice cream sandwhich there - ha.

Easter Pics

Above are some pictures of us all decked out in our Easter Church best. Micah wasn't the happiest that he ended up in a tie, but doesn't he look HOT!!! Zayne's little outfit is from my good friend Michelle H. and I have been saving it for Easter. Zayne looked SO cute in it. He looks almost as handsome as his Daddy :).

The last few days Zayne has been ON THE GO. He officially started crawling on Saturday, but just in the last few days has started crawling to more than just his favorite toys a few feet away. Last night he ended up in the kitchen. He doesn't just do the army crawl either. He gets up on all fours and proceeds with perfect form. He is very focused about it! He got his second tooth last week as well and is now a much happier little guy again. I am finding the day before they pop through, he becomes almost a different kid. Only 18 more to go right??? :)

Easter Sunday

Yesterday was Easter Sunday. We spent the day with Church in the morning, Easter dinner at my parents and then a long walk/Mt. Bike with special new friends from church.

This Easter, I felt I could relate to the suffering that Jesus endured for us better than I ever have before. There is so much pain in this world and I am so thankful that this is not the end. That, because of Jesus' death on the cross and RESURECTION we have hope for eternity. I am so thankful that Jesus loved us enough to want to take away the suffering that we feel. I am so thankful that He loves me!

Happy EASTER!!!

BFF Day

Yesterday, my best friend Kristin came and spent the day with Zayne and me. We had so much fun! She helped me work on our guest bedroom to get it ready for some upcoming company. It is the last room in the house I need to get organized and I've really had a hard time getting motivated. She helped me so much! We hung pictures and rearranged furniture and now the room is on its way to looking great! Kristin is pretty amazing with the power tools - I was impressed! We got to eat lunch at Rudino's and of course took a walk to get ice cream. It was a beautiful day outside and we loved enjoying the sunshine, each other, and of course, a cute little boy who flirted excessively with Kristin.

Zayne has been making some changes to his schedule lately. He is sleeping a whole lot less and does not want to be pressured into going to bed when he isn't ready. He has also been more cranky again so I'm wondering if the next tooth is coming. I think I am getting him re-figured out.... just in time for him to change it all around again :). Hoping for some longer naps today.

Spring is Here!

A little of our Town

Today Zayne and I took another one of our daily walks around Grand Ledge. I remembered to bring the camera and thought I would take some pictures of our town. The first one is definetly the most important place - The Ice Cream Shop! :)

It is really a nice little town. I love that everything is so close and convenient. We can pretty much get all our town errands done in less than 30 minutes - Walking! It was a really nice day out too. I think the snow has pretty much melted now - YIPEE
