Our FAVORITE gift!

At Zayne's little preschool he made uus this Christmas wreath. He really seemed to remember it and realize what it was. He was SO excited when we opened it. We have it hanging on our front door!

We had such a special Christmas morning together as a family. I will share more pictures and details in the next few days. We are enjoying our Sunday as a family - hope you all are too!

Christmas Tree Expedition!

This year, we decided since we live in MI, we need a real Christmas Tree. We found a nice couple from our Church that had just started a Christmas tree farm and were selling "pick and cut your own." We decided to make an event of it. It was such a fun memory. Zayne loved walking through the trees. We would ask him which one he liked and he would go up to a tree and point to it. We finally picked out the perfect tree, brought it home, decorated it and are enjoying its fresh smell and beautiful branches. Zayne does really well with not touching it - he learned pretty quick that it is POKEY!

Christmas Present or Trampoline???

This box came in the mail for Zayne a few days ago. It is from Gramma and Grampa P. and Zayne was SO excited about it. He has NO idea what is IN the box but he sure had fun jumping on the outside of it. We are pretty sure he is going to enjoy the actual present, but I don't want to spoil anything so mums the word :).

We had a busy day with work, playing at Safta's house, having dinner together as a family, and enjoying having Micah home tonight. Speaking of which, I should go pay attention to my "guys."

Ready for the snow

Here is Zayne in his snow suit. It is so cute on him and pretty much doubles him width wise. We went to a Christmas Parade last Friday, here in our little downtown and I bundled him all up in it and walked to it with Zayne in his stroller. I don't know if he just couldn't move or if he was enthralled by the parade but he didn't move a muscle the whole parade.

We had a fun weekend cutting our own Christmas tree and decorating it. It does feel a little more like Christmas with snow flurries and 20 deg weather.

Raking Leaves

These are a little outdated since probably in a week I will be posting pictures of snow, but I wanted to share them anyway. A few monday's ago, Zayne and Micah went out and raked up the leaves in the backyard. Zayne had so much fun and as long as he didn't get stuck in the leaves was a happy little camper.

We had a really nice Thanksgiving day. We celebrated over at my parents house and everything was just relaxed and low key. It didn't really feel like a holiday weekend, because Micah had to go back to work on Friday and Saturday. The restaurant had a great week though and we are really happy with the way it is growing and word is getting out.

I also realized, I often just share the highlights of our weeks/days. Who wouldn't :). But, I also thought it would be nice to remember a little bit of the reality that our week holds. So here is our schedule:
Monday - Micah and Zayne hang out for the day. Kara works 9:30-3:30.
Tuesday - Kara and Zayne hang out, usually a catch up day, laundry, grocery shopping, cleaning, blogging. Tuesday Night - Small Group
Wednesday - Zayne goes to Safta's house, Kara and Micah work, but Micah gets off at 5:00pm so we have an evening together!
Thursday - Same as Tuesday, minus the small group.
Friday - Zayne goes to a little daycare called Tate's Playhouse, Kara and Micah work. In the evening Zayne and I try and find something fun to do because Micah's closes at Rudino's.
Saturday - Micah' works, Kara and Zayne hang out and normally visit Daddy at work.
Sunday - Our one FREE DAY! Church, Family time (normally Tim Hortans and some outdoor excursion)
