Holidays at Saba and Safta's

We arrived in Michigan on December 1st and spent 8 weeks at my parents house as we waited for our house to close.  We are all very impressed with the fact that we were able to live together so long and all still love each other.  It is a feat we congratulate ourselves on quite often :)  We have so many fun memories of our time together - here are a few: Kyler sitting with Safta every morning snuggling in her swing, "helping" Saba's back feel better, annoying Uncle Na Na and being the little brother's he always knew he never wanted, Zayne beating everybody at bowling Wi, watching many episodes Caillou, and Little Einstein, LOTS of puking, coughing and the flu, playing at Burger King with Uncle Sia, and making fun family memories we will never forget.

A Christmas Zoo Adventure

Right before Christmas, we decided to take an evening and head out to our local zoo to see the lights and the animals.  They have a Christmas light festival over the holidays where you can go and walk around the Zoo and see whatever animals happen to be out.  We made it there just a few minutes before closing and decided to head right to the lion house.  The lions were HUNGRY and a lot more active and animated than I have ever seen.  It was a fun evening and one that we all will not forget soon.

More of Life

So I don't have any new fun pictures - they are all on our camera, which is still packed in FL or they are on Micah's phone and we haven't gotten around to putting them on the computer (make a note to add that to the to-do list along with the 50,000 other things)  Anyway, I still wanted to write about what has happened these last few weeks, because I don't want to forget this time in our life and all that God is doing and teaching and showing us.
We made it safe and sound to my parents house and planned to just stay with them a few days/weeks until we could find something to rent.  After looking around at our rental options in the area we wanted to settle, we decided that maybe it would be better if we could purchase something instead.  This would eliminate a second move, probably the month we were going to be having baby, and also help reduce a lot of cost.  Plus, we are just ready to settle and renting isn't really a long term solution.  So, we started looking for houses and within a few days we found one online we LOVED.  It is about 2 miles from my parents, on 2.5 acres,  is a beautiful walk out ranch, and pretty much EXACTLY what we were looking for in a home to raise our family.  We decided to see about the loan process and putting down on offer.  I seriously cannot explain how everything worked out so quickly and when we often doubted this would even be possible for us, but in less than a week of moving down here we had a wonderful pre-approval on a loan and a contract on a dream home.  The house had 3 other offers at the same time as ours and literally by GOD's hand we were the first place contract.  The same night we put on offer on the house, we got an email from a couple that wants to rent our home out in FL with the option to buy in the future.  It was just another confirmation that YES - God is working out all the details!!!
We are all recovering from the MI flu and are happy that today is a better day.  It was a long weekend, with sick whinny boys and cold rainy weather.  We are so thankful for my parents and their hospitality and generosity in allowing us to move in while we wait for the home process to settle.  We are hoping to move in Mid January and in the mean time like my brother Nate says - we will cook and clean to pay the rent :)
Hoping for a Healthy Week!
