Busy little boy

Here are some recent action shots of Kyler. He sure is a busy little guy. I think I forget just how busy he his when he is around Zayne because Zayne is busier and louder. We had a fun day today. Zayne spent the morning in big boy underwear and did great until it was time to do the #2. We haven't quete mastered That on the potty chair. We also played with play-doh, had a puppet show, read stories, and played in the box house that Micah made for them. I really enjoyed the simple things today. Seeing them both eating next to each other in their highchairs. Watching Kyler climb up the stairs. Giving Zayne lots of kisses and hugs. Nursing Kyler and seeing his brown eyes look up at me. I love these little boys!

A Christmas Tradition

This year we started a tradition. Each Christmas Eve the boys will get to open a new pair of pajamas that they get to wear on Christmas night. They were so cute dressed in their sweet new PJs. Zayne's were Elmo Pajamas and he even had a pair of Elmo slippers to match that we had gotten in a box of hand-me-downs. Kyler wore the "my first Christmas" jammies that Nan had bought for Zayne last year.

We really had a special relaxing Christmas this year. Christmas Eve we had my family over for finger foods and Christmas cookies - yum. Christmas Day we were all up and 6am and had a memorable christmas as a family. Zayne seemed to understand quite a big more this year about what was going on and it was fun to watch both the boys open their gifts and start to grasp the concept of Jesus's B-day. Christmas afternoon we headed over to my parents house and spent the rest of the day relaxing and hanging out with my family. There was lots and lots of presents, lots of good food, and fun movie, and many smiles to go around. We missed my brother Josiah as he is overseas on a job assignment, though. We are so thankful this year for all the blessings we have been given, especially our precious, healthy, little boys!

Kyler - 10Mo

We took Kyler to his 10 month check up on Monday.
Here are his measurements:
Weight: 17lbs 8oz = 10%
Height = 27 1/4inches = 25%

He now has two teeth, one on the top and one on the bottom. I think he is working on his second top one right now. He likes to eat just about anything he can put in his mouth and prefers table food to the jars. He is still sleeping a good 8-10 hours before he wakes up to nurse and then sleeps another 2-3 hours. Speaking of the little guy - he is hungry for bkfst.

Remembering Sunnier Days

I took these pictures of the boys this summer and they were still on our camera that we hadn't uploaded to the computer. They made me smile and I need some happier thoughts these days. We are all still sick and I came down with it pretty bad a couple days ago. It has seriously felt like the longest week ever. Hoping we will be better before Christmas!

Weekend Memories

Well this is how our weekend was supposed to go:
Friday - Date night
Saturday - Christmas Fondue with Friends
Sunday - Church and Church Christmas play

This is how our weekend actually went:

Friday - Zayne got some Flu bug, ran a high fever and threw up twice = no date night
Saturday - Went to bed early after a long, cozy day hanging around the house = no friends over
Sunday - I went to church with Kyler, we worked in the nursery, Zayne is still sick = no Christmas play.

It is snowing outside right now and looks almost magical outside. I guess it was a good weekend to be stuck inside, but poor little Zayne is just miserable. We are headed to the Dr. tomorrow for a well visit for Kyler - 10 Months! And I am going to see if they will look at Zayne as well. I am pretty sure it is just a viral infection he picked up at daycare, but I will feel better if they tell me that.
We did get to meet my parents and brother Nate at Tim Hortons today. Can't miss a weekend trip there, sick or not :). It was fun and relaxing and Zayne seemed to enjoy getting out of the house for a bit.
Kyler is standing and taking steps on his own. He is such a precious little guy. He sure can get around and into things these days. I keep trying to see him as this little baby, but he is quickly trying to keep up with his big brother.
Looking forward to not having a sick little one, but thankful for the special weekend as a family, even if it did go a little different than planned!

Random Thoughts

There is snow on the ground and christmas is in the air. We are having fun getting Christmas decorations out and finishing up our shopping. Micah and the boys went shopping for our christmas tree today and found a beautiful one. We are planning to decorate it tommorrow. We went and helped some friends paint their nursery tonight, they are preparing for their second set of twins! It was fun to have a painting project to do - I have missed doing house projects the last couple years.
The boys are both doing great. Kyler is still sleeping through the night and is now standing unassisted for brief periods of time. He is eating real food like a champ and at most meals consumes more food than Zayne does.
Zayne is talking more and more. He is still enthralled with trucks, fire engines, and ambulances. Last night we went to our town's annual Christmas parade. The boys both loved it and it was such a fun evening. We had pancakes for dinner, took a quick bath and after they were bundled in their pajamas and snow suits, we headed out. The highlight was the fire trucks at the end, but all the floats were cool. Off to have a bednight snack and head to bed!
